The trip is going well. My friend and I thought we would be amazing and tan all day in the sun using only an spf 4. Tonight we look like frightening creatures. And speaking of creatures there was a manaray warning on the beach today, so we did not want to chance an attack on us in anyway…..so we just laid on the beach like manatees. Only Conan watchers will get that.

Anyway I don’t want any backlash on my blog here but, I do have to bring attention to the ignorance I’ve witnessed during my stay in the United States of America. Let’s just say Floridians for arguments sake. Now I don’t want to censor myself, but I will right now..This technically can even be said by a Canadian…It just happens to be more fun, talking about Americans.

Story one: We went to eat at this restaurant called P.F. Changs, which is a relatively upscale Asian restaurant on sunrise. We overheard a couple beside us speaking to the waiter about what to order, and the lady asked for a vegetarian appetizer. The waiter then asked the lady if she would be ordering off their vegetarian menu tonight. The asshole said and I quote” well, I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t want to eat dog.” Our mouths just dropped at this ludicrous statement, she wasn’t even kidding. I then spent the rest of the meal trying to get her to hear me saying dog related phrases. She never even turned around.

Next asshole: She was located at the local Target. Most Canadians flock to this department store to buy useless articles/things they do not need. We love it. Anyways this has to do with a conversation, between two ladies, about the upcoming presidential nomination/election. We overheard one lady saying that if Obama wins she just knows that he will give everything to “those” people. We turned to look, and low and behold, there was a black lady walking by. Wow, I’m so impressed to see that rasism is still alive and well in the "best" and "most advanced" country in the word…not.
They were wearing matching leopard sweaters. I'm pretty sure they were angora, so I guess it’s ok. I love Florida.

We’re also playing up our French Canadian heritage as much as we can just for our own enjoyment. We almost got caught today by a rather large group of Quebecois. They sound so pretty.

sunlight

I despise packing. I usually throw as much of my favourite things (that can fit) into a luggage, but end up wearing less than 20% of it…except underwear of course. I’m most excited for the ocean. One day I will have a house on the beach looking out to the beautiful sea, and all will be perfect.

I can’t be happier that this week is over. It was pretty close to the most horrible yet, but I’m not going to dwell on it, just move along. Move along. Wait, one good thing did happen. I talked my way out of a parking ticket on Ossington on Wednesday night. I was in a bar and saw him from the window ticketing my car..I bolted out the door the like someone lit my hair on fire, and chased him all the way down the street in a tee shirt. Long story short he said there was nothing he could do, as much as I pleaded with him. I mean the last thing I needed was a parking ticket with all the other jazz going on. I moped back into the bar, and low and behold, he passed by my car and ripped of the ticket thinking no one was watching…oh silly I’m always watching. What a sweet sole. It was too late to go back out and thank him, so this will do.

Ok so that’s it really. It’s a bright and sunny Saturday but I’m still so tired, I know I have to get up, get some Americano mola, and pack. I’m off tomorrow for a few weeks of sand, ocean and ocean. Of course I’ll have my computer so undeniably I’ll be back before then.

Kisses to all my friends

The lessons are too cruel to keep to lock the door to hide the key

I feel nauseous and apprehensive and I hate the feeling of both. I just finished watching Into The Wild, and it did not help any. Its funny when you watch a movie you’re really into, or even relate to, because when it’s over you feel like you are in the films mind state. Does that make any sense? Maybe not to you, but it does for me. For the rest of the night or maybe even week, my views will have completely changed. This feeling or change always turns out to be temporary, but nonetheless I feel it at the time, and it is more powerful than any other feeling.

I think I may be going away at just the right time.

I have another court date on Thursday, as well as two job interviews with large firms downtown. It’s happens to be Valentines Day on Thursday, and I’ll be spending it hoping around the city solo, from court, to big lonely towers.

I’m not excited whatsoever, but it’s time for some sort of change I guess. I think what bothers me the most is that I have to go into a big office and be judged by some strange lady, who basically decides if she likes me or not. I’m not very good in uncomfortable positions, and I certainly can’t put on an act just for the sake of it. I will also have to take out my lip ring, because fact of the matter is ,there is no way I will be hired if I wear it. Nothing about what I just said makes me want these jobs. But what then?!?! People who have it all figured out make me gag.

I need to shut the eff up immediately because because because.

I’m hungry.
Have a nice night.

p.s Nothing makes me madder than these kinds of blogs. But it’s mine and I have to write what I feel, as exasperating as it might be.

This always makes me smile. I saw it posted on a light pole on sunset boulevard when I was in LA. It pretty much made my trip.

I sometimes wonder how I even stumble upon these pictures or sites. Too much time on the internet I’ve thought.

Either way gold is gold, no?

고양이, chat, katze, kot, γάτα, gatto, kat

Yesterday’s Metric concert turned out to be a bust. To make it quick, Emily was perfect and truthfully so was the sound in the venue, but the Sound Academy is the worst place to watch a concert of that nature. It’s designed horribly, being long and narrow. Ash and I started out near the front bar by the stage, but as soon as the lights dimmed, swarms of gross ignorant people pushed and shoved their way to the front. Don’t get me wrong, normally I can handle that, but for some reason this time was particularly annoying. We went straight to the back of the room where a few couples and now us stood. I obviously could not see anything, which I didn’t really mind. There was too much going on, everyone was having their own loud conversations, and I just could not concentrate. We left early which I can’t even believe I’m admitting. Like I said she was perfect and amazing and all that stuff, but we just couldn’t do that crowd…we bailed. Emily said it perfectly “We’re used to playing the Dakota Tavern”. I wish that was the case. I guess I’m being bitchy because so many people were there, but they were assholes so I’m justified.

Me today: Still sick, and strangely obsessed with
Terry Richardson. But that’s just today, who knows what tomorrow will bring. Happy weekend, friends & foes.

All that glitters is not gold

Just yesterday I was bragging to the girls at work about I have yet to get sick this winter, which is a near miracle for me. One of them said I just jinxed myself for saying that, and I proceeded to say I don’t believe in any of that crap.

I woke up this morning with a stuffy nose, and painfully sore throat to match. Now what am I suppose to think?

It’s snowing again right now, and the large flakes look like sparkles falling from the sky. You know something? sky happens to rhyme with eye, and that brings me to my next story. Last night I went to a friend’s house for dinner, and I decided to go routing through her extensive makeup collection. I stumbled upon a small tube of gold eye glitter. Because I’m me, I decided to put some on. A few strokes on my top lid, and a few on the bottom, just be to be a real jack ass. I just wanted to make my friend smile, y’know? Anyways I’m paying the consequences of my careless actions today. Every once in a while a piece of glitter will float past my retina, but I think the worst part about it is that not only did I shower this morning, but the sparkles will not budge from my face. So today at work I have gold glitter all over my face, predominantly around my eyes. A lady in my building even complimented me on my “fancy” eye makeup today.

I’m so happy.

Did I tell you how much I love Polaroid’s? I’ll show you shortly.
