FingerBlast

If ever there were a product to allow you to play with yourself and make it productive, here it is. Designer Erik De Nijs has crafted a new wave in tech friendly clothing in a pair of denim that is guaranteed to keep you in touch wherever you go. Complete with a keyboard across the crotch, speakers in the knees, a mouse in the back pocket and a joystick controller behind the front zipper (convenient, no?) his “beauty and the geek” jeans will no doubt make you a one man party, or secure your MySpace status as “single” for years to come.

Highz

So this was certainly the week for good concerts. Tuesday was the much anticipated MGMT show at the Mod Club, and let me tell you they did not disappoint. I did a post on them a while back, but I never knew how much I would end up loving them as well as their album, Oracular Spectacular. Even kev drew from BSS, was there to take it all in, so the band must be doing something right.

Ok so Wednesday was Hot Chip and the Phoenix, and yes I’ve always enjoyed them while out dancing & what not, but last night I gained a totally new respect for them. They were freaken incredible, and their stage presence was impeccable. They covered the song, Temptation, which is one of my favourite New Order songs eva. There album material is nothing compared to their live show. My only complaint, cause I always have at least one, was that it was a sweaty mess in there! It was unbearably hot, and everyone was wet and gross. BUT, the Chip made up for it when they did a cover of Prince/Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2U, which had everyone in the room singing along with every word, including moi.

love is mysterious and rad, like Steve Perry from Journey

I took that line from this book I just read. Candy Girl by Diablo Cody. Such a fun read, and sooo perverse which can be fun. If your a fem, read it.

Things to do today
Buy flowers
Make cake
Buy an obnoxious “happy anniversary banner”

It’s my parents 30th anniversary today so my sister and I decided that we would make our parentals a lavish dinner. But then reality set in, and we realized that would do work with our time restraints. My sister teaches till late, and I well I…..anyways I have a concert tonight so I don’t want to be all stressed and stuff. Soooo were pulling Ms. Doubtfire styles. Go to parents fav restaurant, set the table beautifully, take food containers and disburse food on actual plates, and vola. Dinner is served, and a kick ass one at that.

30 years of marriage. Crazy huh.

So anyways one of the members of the troop sent over via email, a pretty catchy remake of the Dolly and Kenny classic, Islands in the Stream, by the Constantines and Feist. Its actually pretty good stuff. Here’s the link if your interested. http://artscrafts.ca/constantines/islandsinthestream/

Also I have a new favourite photographer. His stuff is wonderful, and unique, and crazy for the most part. Please check his stuff out and favourite your favourites.

het verdere leven

My friend gave me this pill that she takes when she’s having a panic attack, and i put it to good use last night before bed. I had court this morning so I was a tad apprehensive, so leave me be...As I was laying in bed, with my stomach against my mattress, I felt my heart beat slow down, and I felt really strange, but in a calm way….it got me automatically thinking that I was dying, and that I would be found tomorrow just laying there lifeless, and my autopsy would prove that the little white pill I took, in return took my little life.

I watched this movie WRISTCUTTERS the other night, and it got me thinking about heaven and where I would go after I die. I was baptised as a child, and went to Catholic schools most my life, but growing up I sort of did my own thing, and I guess you can say I’m not really a religious person…at all.

but now at my age is where I really wonder about this heaven place. I’d really like it if I could believe it existed. How rad would that be meeting up with deceased family and friends, and my precious angel buffy? But….and there’s always an annoying but, what if there was nothing, or nowhere to go? So weird to be thinking about I know. I’ve also decided that from this moment forward I’m going to believe that there is a heaven or something like it, where we go when we die, and enjoy a satisfying afterlife. P-A-R-T-Y...I mean it can’t really be over when it’s over can it?
Oh and RENT that movie I mentioned. It’s a great film, and it’s not emo as you may think from the title. Any Tom Waits lovers? he's in it too! reeeeent it!

Today’s so pretty out. Today’s a good day.

I blog in bed. Always. What a beautiful day no? My nose is sore and a strange shade of red. I’m ready for this silly cold to move on and out. Go.
Anyways I stayed in last night and spent hours on Slimane’s diary website, which is not actually a real diary, but a collection of various photos he’s taken. I do love reading peoples diaries though. Keep yours far away from me.
